Hartsville Family YMCA, 111 East Carolina Avenue, 843-383-4547. The Y is downtown in a two-story former department store listed in the National Historic Register. It features a junior Olympic sized swimming pool, indoor track, racquetball courts, complete fitness center, gymnasium, gymnastics facility and aerobics room. A complete program of classes and nursery services are available. Out of town visitors are welcome. A member of any YMCA that participates in the A.W.A.Y. program may visit the Hartsville Y up to eight times per year with proof of membership at no charge. Other out of town adult guests pay $10 per visit.

Hartsville Recreation Department, 539 West Carolina Avenue, 843-383-3020. The Recreation Department has an indoor gymnasium and offers programs for all ages at their facility and at Lawton Park on Prestwood Lake. Lawton Park features lighted tennis courts, picnic shelters, playground and a two-story recreation center.

Hartsville's newest Recreation Complex, Byerly Park, is on Fourteenth Street at Russell Road. Soccer and baseball fields host many tournaments from April through October.

Lake Robinson, a 15-minute drive from downtown, is a popular spot for sailing, power boating and swimming. Here the Pee Dee Sailing Society holds its annual early Spring Hobie Regatta.

Hartsville Country Club, 116 Golfcourse Road, 843-332-4461, offers an 18-hole championship course, tennis courts, resident golf and tennis pro's, pool and complete dining facilities, lounge and locker rooms.



Two public golf courses, Fox Creek to the south and Sandy Point, to the east, are less than 15 minutes from downtown.
