    Status: Non-Exempt, Part Time

    Reports to: Healthy Weight and Your Child Program Coordinator

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Responsible for providing the Healthy Weight and Your Child (HWYC) program curriculum as it is intended by the YMCA of the USA under the direct supervision of the HWYC Program Coordinator.

    Create an inclusive, safe, and fun environment for children ages 7-13 to learn, feel supported, and engage in moderate-to vigorous intensity group physical activity

    Facilitation with groups of children and adults based off of the HWYC and CATCH curriculum

    Make personal connections with participants and foster relationship-building between children and adults

    Understand what might motivate youth and adults to adopt or change behaviors, i.e. eating, activity, planning, goal setting, and action plan development

    Ability to scaffold instructions and elevate youth voice and involvement for all physical abilities

    Maintain a consistently positive, patient, and non-judgmental attitude

    Exhibit emotional maturity

    Provide constructive feedback and celebrate attempts and accomplishments

    Model healthy communication skills with co-lead

    Maintain confidentiality for each participant in ordinance with HIPAA

    Qualifications:

    High School diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Strong interest in healthy living.

    Must be able to be moderately physically active with group of kids and adults.

    Must be able to remain on feet for extended periods of time.

    Means and ability to travel to UPYMCA branches

    Physical Requirements; carrying, seeing, hearing, speaking, running, crouching, lifting (25lbs) and walking.
