            • Buckle Up South Carolina 2020

              Hartsville, SC—The Hartsville Police Department wants to remind drivers of the importance of buckling up each time they enter a vehicle. One of the safest choices drivers and passengers can make is to buckle up. The buckle up message has been, and still is, an important message for us to share and enforce with the motorists traveling on our roadways. As of this morning, 55% of the fatalities so far in 2020 that had access to a seatbelt failed to utilize their seatbelt. That is a percentage that we all would love to decrease.
               
              As a part of our continued efforts to keep our citizens and guests safe on our roadways, the Hartsville Police Department will be participating in the 2020 Buckle Up South Carolina Campaign.  As a driver, it is your duty to make sure all occupants in your vehicle are properly restrained.  Please make sure that all children are secured appropriately in a car seat that meets the requirements for their age and size.
