HCC announces first rehearsal for historic concert

The Hartsville Community Choir will begin rehearsing for its spring concert on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary at West Hartsville Baptist Church.  The history making concert will feature a brand new half hour choral work by local Hartsville resident Dennis Schaefer written in 2015 in honor of the chorus’ 35th anniversary and that of James Beaumier’s 25th anniversary as director.  The work is a “Mass” or a setting of the traditional Catholic service of worship as has been set to music since the beginning of Christian worship.  This setting, according to director, James Beaumier is in the style of Mozart, one of the world’s most famous composers.  The concert will be on April 30, 2022 at 7 p.m. at West Hartsville Baptist Church and will also feature Mendelssohn’s magnificent “Hymn of Praise” and the Long Bay Symphony.  All singers are invited to join us for what promises to be a rich and adventurous choral experience.  For information, please contact James Beaumier at JJBeaumier@Bellsouth.net or Hartsville Community Chorus | Facebook
