It's a new year, and a new you! Forget about that gym membership, or cutting down on junk food, we've got a New Year's resolution that is fail proof! Your New Year's resolution is to get out and support Coker University and the Art's for every event! We kick off the month of January with a little Art and some Musical Theatre! Let's get it started!

Art Exhibitions
Jan. 17 - Jan. 27, 2023 Coker University and the Cecelia Coker Bell Gallery present the 50th Annual Faculty Exhibition. This year's exhibition features the work of Professor Nate Gulledge, Professor Alyssa Reiser Prince, and Professor Austin Sheppard. Expect to see paintings, graphic design and sculpture in this years celebration of professional artists! This exhibition will be on display from January 17th through 27th, 2023.

Jan. 30 - Feb. 24, 2023 Coker University and the Cecelia Coker Bell Gallery are eager to exhibit the work of artist Barbara Schreiber. Schreiber graduated with an M.F.A. from Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, MD. Known for injecting the image of fire in her work, her latest body examines the absence of crowds we took for granted in the pre-Covid era and the presence of the urgent, highly defined crowds that emerged during lockdown. Schreiber's exhibit, titled Recent Developments, will be on display from Jan. 30 through Feb. 24, 2023.

Music Performances

Jan. 20 & Jan. 21, 2023. Coker University and the Music Program invite you to join us for Standard Practice: A Musical Theater Showcase. This lively performance features a variety of songs from familiar and less familiar Broadway musicals sung by student vocalists. This 2 night event takes place on Friday, January 20th and Saturday, January 21st, 2023. Both shows begin at 7:30pm in the Hannah Lide Coker Music Recital Hall. Admission is free and all are welcome!
