We are just TWO days away from one of our favorite events of the year- The Heart of the Holidays Open House and Tree Lighting Celebration! This event will be this Thursday, November 17th from 6:00-9:00pm. As a reminder, I would LOVE to feature any specials you have for that night, so if you haven’t already sent them over, please do so ASAP.

I also want to remind you about the Window Decorating Contest. It is not too late to sign up! Just click on the link below and enter your business/organization into the contest for prizes. All entries are due by this Thursday in time for the Holiday Celebration.

Finally, I want to remind everyone of our road closures and parking. Like last year, we plan to close off the streets to set up the big stage outside of Centennial Park for the tree lighting to begin at 6 p.m. In order to promptly start the event at 6 p.m., we will begin road closures at 4 p.m. The following road closures will take place on Thursday:

    •             S. Fifth Street between Carolina Avenue and Cargill Way will be closed at 4 p.m.
    •             N. Fifth Street between Carolina Avenue and Home Avenue will be closed at 5 p.m.
    •             Carolina Avenue between 4th Street and 6th Street will be closed at 5 p.m.

We will have event parking signs to direct guests to the lots open for parking. All city parking lots will be open for parking; First Baptist Church and Coker University have also graciously opened their parking lots to accommodate the influx of people in our downtown.
