Come learn how to harness the free stress reduction tool that is always with you! The ancients understood that breath was the doorway to regulating the autonomic nervous system to control inner states, yet this information seems to have taken a back seat with all our technological advances. It is estimated that 75% of Americans experience stress that affects their physical and/or mental health, and that at least 75% of doctor’s visits are for stress-related complaints and ailments. We will dive into the mechanics of breathing, common dysfunctional breathing patterns, and practical exercises to help you deepen your connection to your breath and learn new habits. This will be a hybrid lecture, discussion, movement, and experiential class. It is not a yoga class, but please bring your own mat if you have one.
