Butler Heritage Week
Event Description:Butler Heritage Week is held in Hartsville each year around the Fourth of July to recognize the legacy of the former historically African-American Butler High School, which for more than seven decades played a key role in the lives of so many Hartsville area citizens. The highlight of the week is the Annual Butler Heritage Week Banquet. Other activities include a gospel music concert, A Taste of Butler, an art exhibit and book signing, a community Bible study, a free concert, a family day celebration and parade.Location:Butler High SchoolDate/Time Information:Tuesday, July 1

T.B. Thomas Golf Tournament at 8:30am at Fox Creek Golf Course in Lydia, SC. Contact Alvin Heatly for more information 332-4522
Annual Heritage Banquet at 6:00pm. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Hines Family Funeral Home or Grant's Barber Shop. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, call Pecolia Grove 857-9074

Annual Heritage Dance from 10pm to 2am in the Butler Gym. Admission is $15.
Saturday, July 5
Heritage Week Parade at 10:00am (line-up begins at 9:00am in Newsome Lot). There is a $25 fee for entry. Contact Lawrence Manning for more information 332-0281
