              Plan to come in on Friday!

              Begin your weekend with a warm welcome at one of Hartsville's cozy accommodations. The Hampton Inn Hartsville or Fairfield Inn & Suites provide comfortable lodgings with modern amenities that you're used to at larger hotels. For a more local touch, consider a stay at one of the charming locally owned options, The Mantissa Hotel or Oak Manor Inn. The Mantissa Hotel was completed in 2015, and each glamorous suite offers its own dramatic décor within walking distance of local shops, restaurants, and Coker University. Relax and unwind in spacious interiors complete with private bedrooms, walk-in closets, contemporary baths, fully stocked kitchens, and beautiful living areas. The Mantissa also has a rooftop bar for you to enjoy with perfectly crafted cocktails to enjoy from the center of town! Oak Manor Inn was built by a paper fiber millionaire in 1892 as a single- family estate, and the Federal-style inn is located directly across the street from the nationally acclaimed Coker University. The sprawling Governor's School for Science and Mathematics, a picturesque boarding school attended by the top high school students in South Carolina, is located just two blocks away.     

               Situated on three acres of sprawling lawns and gardens, and surrounded by century-old live oaks, magnolias, azaleas and towering cedar trees, Oak Manor Inn is just a pleasant five-minute stroll from the town's chic shops and superb restaurants. All five guest rooms (three king and two queen) have private baths, flat-screen cable TVs, and mini-refrigerators. Three rooms have fireplaces, as does the paneled library and stately living room. A home-cooked Southern breakfast including organic eggs, bacon or sausage, buttermilk biscuits, fresh fruit, grits, coffee, and juice is provided to all guests each morning. In-room coffee makers, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards are also provided, as is that all-important free high-speed wireless.   

              After settling in, take a leisurely stroll through the downtown area. The historic district is home to beautiful architecture and offers a glimpse into the town's rich past.               Dinner at Shug's Steakhouse offers steak, sushi bar, and more Southern-focused menu items featuring local ingredients and Southern flavors. The fun setting (usually have live music!) and friendly service make it a great spot to unwind after a day of exploration. If you're interested in local entertainment, check out what's happening at the Hartsville Center Theater.               On your final morning, grab a light breakfast or brunch at Wild Heart Brewery if you didn't have the chance on Friday night. Then, put your kayaks in at Black Creek and wind around to Prestwood Lake, perfect for a morning reflection or a final stroll before heading out. Before you leave, stop by Burry Park, which often has local markets or small events. It's a great place to pick up a few last-minute souvenirs or enjoy a peaceful moment amidst nature. Make sure to follow the city's Facebook page for free events happening in Burry Park, such as Screen on the Green or the monthly farmer's markets.
