Hartsville Animal Hospital Open House

Hartsville Animal Hospital will hold an open house and pet adoption event on Saturday, May 16. The adoption event will start at 10am and last until 2pm; pets available for adoption will include puppies and kittens from the Darlington County Humane Society and Chesterfield County Animal Services. The Animal Hospital has generously offered to give each adopted pet free vaccinations, exams, and a care kit for new pet owners. The open house will be from 1pm to 3pm; light refreshments will be provided. The Animal Hospital will have normal operation hours until noon, and will have special deals and discounts all day on their wide variety of collars and leashes.

New owners Dr. Kenzo Tochiki and Dr. Ryan James are excited to welcome Hartsville’s citizens and their pets. They purchased the Animal Hospital in October 2014 following Dr. Al McCaskill’s retirement. Dr. James is from Darlington, SC, and studied at Clemson and Auburn. He has worked for Hartsville Animal Hospital since 2006. Dr. Tochiki was born in Lima, Peru and raised in Charlotte, NC. He studied at High Point University and the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Kenzo joined Hartsville Animal Hospital in 2014 and resides in Hartsville. 

“We are excited to serve the Hartsville area,” says James. “We are carrying on the tradition of community service upheld by Dr. McCaskill; Dr. Tochiki and I are ready to meet your pets, some of which have been coming to Hartsville Animal Hospital since they were puppies and kittens.”

“Helping find homes for these pets is the thing that really excites me,” says Tochiki. “We have two great organizations helping us out with our adoption event in the Darlington County Humane Society and Chesterfield County Animal Services. If offering free service is what it takes to get these pets out of the shelters, then I am grateful for the opportunity.”

Their normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to noon, 2:00pm to 5:30pm; and Saturday, 7:30am to noon. Walk-ins are welcome.
