Improving Lives of Senior Adults
We are excited to announce that Agapé Hospice will be providing a dementia awareness training and breakfast for members of the Hartsville Chamber's service industry sector on September 28 at 9:00 am. The event will be held in the Chamber Boardroom located at 214 North 5th Street.
The purpose of the training will be to help businesses in the local service industry better understand some of the challenges facing a person with dementia. According to Caroline Adams, Senior Solution Advisor for Agapé Hospice, the training will cover the following topics on how businesses can create “dementia friendly” safe zones.- How to provide safe and comforting environments for a person with dementia
- How to avoid frustration and embarrassment for a dementia sufferer and their caregiver
- How including safe environments can decrease the feeling of isolation for dementia caregivers
