    Job Description
    Position Title: SCCA Community Health Ambassadors Internship
    Organization: South Carolina Cancer Alliance
    Location: Statewide SC (with travel to health fairs and events across the state)
    Compensation: Paid per event and project basis 

    Position Summary:
    The South Carolina Cancer Alliance is seeking passionate and motivated interns to support our community engagement and health equity initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in public health outreach, event coordination, and cancer prevention education. Interns will work closely with the Community Engagement Director and other team members to support health fairs, community events, and organizational projects.
    Ideal Candidates:
    Person with a passion or pursuing degree in:
    • Master of Public Health (MPH) 
    • Social Work (BSW/MSW) 
    • Health Promotion, Community Health, or related fields 
    • Communication 
    • Associate degrees in health-related or community-focused disciplines 
    • Bachelor of Science (BS) in relevant areas
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Assist in planning and staffing health fairs, screenings, and outreach events 
    • Engage with community members to share educational materials and resources 
    • Support data collection and reporting for outreach activities 
    • Help develop and distribute promotional materials 
    • Coordinate with partner organizations and volunteers
    • Attend team meetings and contribute to program development 
    • Maintain accurate mileage logs for reimbursement
