    Cypress Adventures - Youth Leadership Program
    Position: Program Assistant
    Location: Hartsville, South Carolina
    Schedule: Afterschool, Monday–Thursday; some weekends for trips and events

     


     

    About Cypress Adventures

    At Cypress Adventures, we empower youth to develop leadership, resilience, and self-awareness through experiential learning, outdoor adventures, and community building. Our Youth Leadership Program relies on a strong team of adults who support our facilitators and help create a safe, engaging, and organized environment for youth.

    We are seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on support, working closely with youth, and contributing to a positive program culture.

     


     

    Position Overview

    Program Assistants provide essential support to the Youth Leadership Program. They help with daily logistics, participant supervision, and program operations, ensuring that activities run smoothly and safely. This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in youth development, outdoor education, and experiential learning, and it provides a natural pathway for growth into a Facilitator role if desired.

     


     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with daily program operations, including snack preparation, transitions, and clean-up

    • Support facilitators during lessons, activities, and reflective circles

    • Monitor youth for safety and engagement

    • Track and maintain program supplies and equipment

    • Support off-site activities and trips as assigned

    • Participate in team meetings, debriefs, and in-service training

     


     

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Passion for youth development and experiential learning

    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

    • Reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail

    • Able to follow program guidelines and Cypress Values

    • Open to feedback and learning from facilitators and coordinators

    Preferred:

    • Experience working with adolescents or in educational, outdoor, or leadership programs

    • Comfort with outdoor activities, adventure-based programming, and group supervision

     


     

    Hours & Compensation

    • Afterschool shifts (Part-time): Monday–Thursday, with additional hours for trips, events, and professional development

    • Hourly pay: $18–$20 depending on experience

    • Opportunities for professional growth, including potential progression to Experiential Learning Facilitator

     


     

    Additional Requirements

    • Minimum age is 18

    • Must be able to pass a background check
