We are super excited for the 6th annual New Year Gathering! In an abundance of caution, we will be hosting this event online via Zoom again. We know, we know…. So many of you do not like Zoom. But after witnessing all the deep connections and transformation that occurred last year, we know this will be another great event and worth your time to show up. And if you really can’t live without the in-person feeling, invite a friend or two over to your house and enjoy the gathering together.

Our theme this year is resurrection. Why, you ask? After the last two years of trials and tribulations, it is our time to RISE like a Phoenix from the ashes of a pandemic, division, and discord. This has been a transformative time of fruitful darkness, but now we are called to move toward the Light of awareness, discrimination, and embodiment. It is time for us to RISE to our truest Self!

“Resurrection comes from the Latin word resurgere, meaning "rise again." It can refer literally to a rising from the dead, but you're more likely to hear the word describe something that's figuratively brought back to life — meaning, it's been revived after a time of inactivity or decline. “

    CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

    Core Shamanism & Spirit Animals
Join Sharon Collings Licata, Faculty member for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, for an introduction to Core Shamanism including a guided journey to look for a compassionate Spirit Guardian (Power Animal) of your own.

“Core Shamanism consists of the universal, near-universal, and common features of shamanism, together with journeys to other worlds, a distinguishing feature of shamanism. As originated, researched, and developed by Michael Harner, the principles of Core Shamanism are not bound to any specific cultural group or perspective. Since the West overwhelmingly lost its shamanic knowledge centuries ago due to religious oppression, the Foundation's programs in Core Shamanism are particularly intended for Westerners to reacquire access to their rightful spiritual heritage through quality workshops and training courses.” From the website: shamanism.org

    Embodied Goddess Storytelling
“I found God in myself and I loved Her, I loved Her fiercely” wrote Ntozake Shange. This class will bring the Sacred Feminine closer perhaps than it’s ever been before- within your own body and soul. Ancient goddess mythology will be told through an embodied asana practice-encouraging students to breathe, move, and listen to the Divine within. Expect an all levels flow followed by a gentle, restorative cool down with options and modifications given throughout class.

    RISE Ritual
While philosophy can give us a great outline and understanding of a topic on a cognitive level, ritual gives us the opportunity to truly embody it and commune with the elements, Self, and Divine. We do not need to talk about what we need to “let go” of; we need to feel the letting go process in our body, mind, and spirit, and have a truly visceral experience. The Phoenix doesn’t talk about burning up, turning into ashes, and rising again; it just does it. This is where ritual comes in…
At its most basic definition, a ritual is a symbolic, intentional ceremony that engages the senses and the imagination. For our RISE Ritual, we will burn up all that no longer serves us, allow those aspects of self to die or pass away, and then create space for the resurrection of our highest Self. We will utilize the following modalities for the ritual: sacred intentions, tapas (fire) practices, pranayama, and guided meditation. We will Rise! And so it is!

“The phoenix must burn to emerge.” – Janet Fitch

    Tarot: The Divination Bridge
Ashlynn will explain the Tarot Deck, and why Tarot is a tried and true method of divination, communion with the soul, and direct way to communicate with the Universe. From the major Arcana which perfectly coincides with psychological archetypes throughout a humans evolution through life, to the minor arcana representing day to day  guidance, we'll learn about how illumination and precise a Tarot Reading can be. Class will conclude with a community reading for inspiration for 2022.

Yoga Nidra - Arise to Who You Really Are
Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice from the Mandukya Upanishad (800-500 BC). It is a guided meditation practice that allows you to experience the timeless, transcendent being that you are. Yoga Nidra is defined as yogic sleep.  By entering conscious and deliberate sleep and letting go of the false sense of self (ego mind) you return to the true self (I Am) that you are.  With the practice of Yoga Nidra you can arise to who you really are and walk in the light of your being.
