Chiropractor’s office morphs into one-stop shopHartsville, S.C. – The Center for Health and Wellness, PC is expanding its services past chiropractic at its facility located at 600 West Carolina Avenue in Hartsville. In the fall of 2015, the center opened its doors as an urgent care facility, treating patients of all ages. Included in the expansion are drug screenings, Department of Transportation (DOT) exams, massage therapy, and physical exams for both employment and athletics.

“We wanted to offer the community a full-service facility without long wait times or having to drive to other cities, while keeping the cost of services low. While we accept most major insurances, many patients pay out-of-pocket. It is important to us to deliver quality healthcare to everyone,” says Dr. Stephen Skipper, owner of The Center for Health and Wellness. Currently the center’s urgent care medical physician treats patients from 3-7 p.m., Monday through Thursday for only $75 per office visit, plus any additional services. Businesses requiring physicals for their employees, drug tests, or DOT exams will pay only $55 per service. Athletic sports physicals are $30. “As you can see, we meet a wide-variety of healthcare needs, right here in Hartsville. We have state-of-the art equipment; a trained, friendly staff; and are ready to serve the community,” remarks Skipper.
Joining Skipper and his team of specialists is Dr. Michele A. Scott, M.D. A native of the Pee Dee, she has been practicing medicine for 24 years. “We chose Dr. Scott to lead our urgent care department because she is thorough, compassionate, and has experience treating people of all ages. Her patients have received excellent care and we are pleased she has joined us,” says Skipper.
