  • MAY BCSD UPDATE

    May 05, 2020

We hope this update finds everyone safe and well. We cannot begin to tell you how much we miss everyone at the BCSD studio. Next week would have been our 39th Showcase and we have not given up hope on providing a finale in some form or another for our students.

Each week is changing along with guidelines and mandates, and we are following the situation closely. We are still hoping to have the show, even with a limited audience in late summer. We realize we will need to explore options for a venue and are considering an outside performance with only a few groups at a time performing in sections.

After conferring with the office of our Governor, we have found out that dance studios are deemed an essential business and can remain open with a limited number within a certain square footage area. Of course, that restricts most of our classes because the majority were full classes. We are hoping to phase into a very small group class setting by the end of May or first of June. We would like to have at least 4 weeks of instruction before we try to do a final showing of the students dances. We will have to instruct in sections, and we are working on ways to divide the classes. We will limit the number of dancers to 4-5 per class and in a 6 foot radius apart.

As stated, things are changing daily and this is just our hope for now. We respect each family's decision to participate or not as we try to end our season in a positive and uplifting way for our dancers. We will continue to consider all areas of possibilities.

Please let us know who would like to purchase a 2020 “Recital” T shirt as we are only taking pre-orders. We cannot afford to order in bulk at this time, but we definitely want to have our shirts for this season. They will have our studio name, this year’s theme: “Wish Upon A Star”, the year 2020 on the front, and all dancer’s names will appear on the back. Please message us your sizes and will have them for you in a few weeks.

We appreciate your support of our studio. We especially would like to thank those who have reached out to us in concern. We have been busy cleaning and preparing our BCSD studio and buildings for when we can safely return and dance together again. We look forward to finishing this special and unforgettable dance season and entering into our exciting 40th Dance Season together in the Fall!

We truly love our great Hartsville community and appreciate you all for supporting our dance studio and business.
