We are so excited for the Heart of the Holidays Celebration next Thursday, November 17th, from 6-9 pm. We will have many of your favorite events as last year, including the Tree Lighting Ceremony, live entertainment, and pictures with Santa. We are also expanding the event by adding a Kiddie Land area, featuring The Grinch playing on the city’s giant screen, a Holiday Artisan Market in the Edition, and much more!

I will be going door to door throughout the week to chat with you all to see if you have any questions or concerns. In the meantime, please send over by this Thursday what specials or promotions you would like Main Street Hartsville to feature about your business or organization for this event.

Like last year, we plan to close off the streets to set up the big stage outside of Centennial Park for the tree lighting to begin at 6 p.m. In order to promptly begin the event at 6 p.m., we will have to start road closures beginning at 4 p.m. The following road closures will take place on Thursday:

    •             S. Fifth Street between Carolina Avenue and Cargill Way will be closed at 4 p.m.
    •             N. Fifth Street between Carolina Avenue and Home Avenue will be closed at 5 p.m.
    •             Carolina Avenue between 4th Street and 6th Street will be closed at 5 p.m.

We will have event parking signs to direct guests to the lots open for parking. All city parking lots will be open for parking; First Baptist Church and Coker University have also graciously opened their parking lots to accommodate the influx of people in our Downtown.
