    South Carolina Governor’s Schools Postpone Joint Information Sessions

     

    The Endless Opportunities joint information sessions have been postponed until Spring 2024, with the exception of the location in Greenville that will continue as scheduled. Each Governor’s School will continue to host site-specific information opportunities throughout the fall and winter months.

    HARTSVILLE, S.C. (Nov. 9, 2023) ─ The Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics (GSSM), Governor’s School for Agriculture at John de la Howe (JDLH), and Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) have postponed its Columbia, Florence, North Charleston, Orangeburg and Rock Hill Endless Opportunities joint information sessions until Spring 2024. The session at SCGSAH, located at 15 University Street in Greenville, SC, will continue to be held on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m.

     

    Throughout the fall and winter months, each school will host an array of site-specific information sessions that will be held on and off campuses. The events will provide prospective families opportunities to learn more about classes and the overall Govie life from current students, alumni, faculty and staff.     As public, residential high schools, South Carolina’s Governor’s Schools serve students interested in pursuing advanced studies in STEM disciplines, agribusiness and the arts. Tuition is free (although fees for meals and boarding may apply), and any student in the state can apply to attend based on grade level.

    About GSSM

    The South Carolina Governor's School for Science & Mathematics is a two-year, public, residential high school in Hartsville, SC, specializing in the advanced study of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).     The South Carolina Governor’s School for Agriculture at John de la Howe (JDLH) is a public residential high school focused on providing a unique and challenging agricultural education program. Located in McCormick, SC, on 1,310 acres of forest and farmland, students grades 10th -12th have the opportunity to receive hands-on training in the fields of agribusiness, forestry, equipment operation, land management, food science, and more.     Located in Greenville, the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities (SCGSAH) cultivates young artists from across the state through pre-professional training in the areas of creative writing, dance, drama, music and visual arts.
