    City of Hartsville Now Accepting Accommodations Tax Grant Applications

    The City of Hartsville is now accepting applications for its annual Accommodations Tax (ATAX) Grant Program, providing funding opportunities for organizations that help promote tourism, arts, culture, and community experiences throughout Hartsville.
     
    Applications for the current funding cycle will be accepted through April 30, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to review all requirements and submit their materials before the deadline.

    Supporting Tourism & Community Impact

    The Accommodations Tax Grant Program is designed to support public and private nonprofit organizations that contribute to Hartsville’s vibrancy and visitor experience. Eligible projects may include:
    • Tourism promotion initiatives
    • Arts and cultural events
    • Civic and cultural facilities or programming
    • Tourist-related services that enhance the visitor experience
    Grant awards are determined annually and will be announced in June 2026.

    Application Requirements

    Applicants must complete the official grant application and provide all required documentation. Submissions must include:
    • Program information detailing the project’s activities, strategy, goals, objectives, and budget
    • IRS documentation confirming 501(c)(3) or 501(d) nonprofit status
    • South Carolina Secretary of State registration as a charitable organization
    Incomplete applications or missing documentation may not be considered.

    Important Information for Previous Recipients

    Organizations that have previously received ATAX funding must submit a detailed final report by May 1, 2026, outlining how funds were used, project outcomes, attendance, and financial reporting.
     
    Failure to submit this report may result in ineligibility for future funding and may prompt further review, including a potential audit of the organization’s financial records.

    Interested organizations can complete and submit the application form through the City of Hartsville. Applicants are also encouraged to review the Accommodations Tax Grant Program Handbook for full guidelines and eligibility details.
