              CARE Security Act Provides Incentives for Charitable Donations
               
              The recently passed CARE security act includes a provision incentivizing Americans to make charitable donations.  Basically, it provides an above-the-line charitable tax deduction for cash donations of up to $300 to 501c3 organizations (for your 2020 federal tax filing).  This will enable you to reduce the gross amount of your taxable income by the amount of your donation (up to $300)- this is great news for those who no longer itemize (talk to your tax professional for additional information).  Please contact Shannon Copes if you are interested in making a new donation or renewing your membership early this year in order to take advantage of this incentive, scopes@peedeelandtrust.org or 843-621-5070.  You are always welcome to make donations through PDLT's secure webpage.
