On Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 12 p.m., Darlington High School will host a signing ceremony for two football players as they ink letters of intent to play collegiately next year.

Malachi Williams will sign with South Carolina State University, and Jose Rivera will sign with Erskine College.

Please join us inside the DHS Media Center inside the school’s main building at 12 p.m. Wednesday. There will be opportunities for photography and videography. Please note that a mask is required at all times, and we will also observe social distancing during the ceremony. There will be a limited number of family members allowed to join the students.

Williams, 6’4’’ and 275 pounds, is an offensive tackle with two years of playing time at DHS. He recorded 30 pancake blocks over 15 games for the Falcons to go along with 11 tackles, including two for loss, as a defensive end. He also participated with the team’s community service initiatives.

Rivera, 6’2’’ and 325 pounds, also primarily plays along the offensive line. He averaged four pancake blocks per game over his final 15 for the Falcons, recording 60 total in that time. He is a four-year varsity letterman and a team captain. He, too, participated in the team’s community service initiatives.
