  • Dispatcher

    The Dispatcher ensures on-time delivery of fixed route and paratransit services as described by management. Monitors overall service integrity and schedule adherence and takes prompt appropriate actions to address circumstances that interrupt on-time performance. Monitors and/or responds to a variety of phone calls in a courteous manner and informs management of problems and complaints and assists in resolving them. Drives revenue service vehicles when necessary or situation demands.

    Must be able to provide excellent customer service to PDRTA passengers and customers. Experience in call center or related field preferred. Must receive a negative result from a DOT pre-employment drug screen, pass a DOT pre-employment physical and criminal background check. SC Commercial Driver’s License Class B with Passenger Endorsement required. In-house CDL training and testing available.

    You must pass a written and road test, criminal background check, and pre-employment physical and drug test. You must be able to follow schedules and provide quality customer service. Work hours vary.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    One to three years related experience and/or training
    Corresponding years of experience may be considered as a substitute for the level of education desired.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    CDL preferred or must be willing to obtain Class B with Passenger Endorsement. In-house CDL training and testing available. Must pass a DOT physical exam and criminal background check. Must receive a negative result from a DOT pre-employment drug screen. Must successfully complete post-interview assessment
